This site is mainly centered around the idea of becoming an astronomer, and to start, this site will provide some information about astronomy to those who don't know much about it! Astronomy is often looked over too much in our socitey, so this website was made to give more of an insight on the field of astronomy and mainly about the career of an astronomer!
Astronmony is the study of objects in space and the whole universe itself! Astronomy allows us to know more about things outside of Earth's atmosphere, like asteroids, stars and other galaxies that share the Milky Way with us and beyond! Astronomy also allows people to potentially find another planet with livable conditions and maybe even other forms of life, which is commonly known as the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence (SETI). There may not be life anywhere else in the universe, but astronomy allows us to at least try to find other forms of life or life sustainable entities.
Astronomy is very important to today's modern society because the study of astronomy can allow us to spot incoming meteorites and other celestial bodies coming towards Earth. This can allow us to know ahead of time when things are coming towards Earth, and we will be able to redirect these objects before its too late. These kinds of actions have the potential to save millions of lives on Earth.
